The design of the R nineT Urban G / S is striking . Striking style elements underline its powerful, robust character and are reminiscent of the original G / S design: the 19-inch front wheel, the telescopic fork with the typical bellows, the headlight mask with windshield and the high front fender characterize the front. The profile is determined by pronounced, horizontal lines. The white body and the narrow, slightly longer red seat bring thoughts of the legendary R 80 G / S from 1980 back to life. The black coloring of the engine and frame support this effect. The new classic round instrument also shows that the Urban G / S is part of the nineT family. That the R nineT Urban G / S also loves unpaved roads up to gravel roads, the optional studded tires and spoked rims, the enduro footrests, the screwed heat shield and the steel foot brake lever underpin this claim – functionally and visually.
Technology for pure driving pleasure.
As much as the R nineT Urban G / S visually shows respect for the past, its technology is modern. Its drive system and vehicle electrics have been convincing since the BMW R nineT . Technically up to date, the R nineTUrban G / S the applicable EU-4 standard. The strong, air-cooled two-cylinder boxer engine draws its power from 1170 cc. With its 81 kW (110 PS), it ensures dynamic power development even from low engine speeds. You yourself enjoy a light and modern driving experience. With the standard ABS and the optional ASC automatic stability control, you can safely bring the power to the road – or gravel at all times. Finally, another visual reference to the enduro past of the G / S: the raised exhaust system made of brushed stainless steel.
Upright and confident.
The balanced ergonomics triangle of the Urban G / S allows you to be agile and confident on the road: The handlebars placed a little higher, the long seat and the footrests placed a little lower and further back create a thoroughly relaxed as well as confident driving experience. The standard seat height is 850 mm. Thanks to an optional lower bench, the R nineT Urban G / S offers stability for almost any body size.
Another visual highlight is the leather-look bench. It is waterproof and processed to a high quality, with a focus on an authentic surface and coloring. For this reason, if you wear dark jeans, for example, it may rub off on the bench. This patina effect can usually no longer be removed and is not a defect.
Customizing almost without limits.
Whether it’s an off-road look or a glimpse into the past, the R nineT Urban G / S primarily expresses your way of life. That is why when it comes to customization, what you know all too well from the countless adventures of G / S history applies: there are hardly any limits. The detachable pillion frame quickly turns the R nineT Urban G / S into a single-seater.
There is also a tailored range of original BMW Motorrad accessories. So you get, among other things, an engine protection bar, underrun protection or headlight protection grille. There are also some special equipment ex works – such as: spoked wheels, various tanks, ASC (automatic stability control), heated grips or LED indicators. The R nineT Urban G / S is also ideally prepared for the assembly of specially made add-on parts, such as our new Machined parts. In short: there are just as few limits to your individuality as to your driving pleasure.
